EMBARGO: Immediate Release

Important Notice: The 21st LivCom Finals will be postponed to April-May 2023

The 21st LivCom Finals originally scheduled in December 2022 will be postponed to April-May 2023, in order to ensure a large in-person participation, so as to have more lively interactions. The LivCom 2023 is co-organized by the UN-INIA (the International Institute on Ageing United Nations-Malta) and other international organizations. The First International Forum on Age-friendly and Liveable Cities and the International Technical Conference on Urban Transit and Sustainable Network will be organized concurrently.

Each year the LivCom Criteria are reviewed by an international panel of judges to ensure their relevance to the changing world of Local Government. Issues that will need to be addressed at local level will be covered by the Judging Criteria. This year’s Awards will focus on age-friendly theme, in order to promote active ageing and age-friendly sustainable cities, with due attention to the increasing ageing population that requires specific considerations in relevant policies and needed actions for appropriate support for their well-being.

In this case, the Judging Criteria with regards to age-friendly issues will be added to the Finals Presentations. Best practices on age friendliness in the post-pandemic era are encouraged to be included in the submission. Delegates are also required to answer questions on age-friendly related issues raised by judges during presentations, which is considered as a bonus point.

The registration channel will remain open and participants that have submitted registration will be automatically moved to the next year. The closing date for entries is reoriented to 31st January 2023 and the deadline for written submission is 15th February 2023.
