The LivCom Awards 2026 Has Opened the Second Round of Registration

Starting from 6 August, the second round of registration for the LivCom Awards 2026 has commenced. The registration deadline has been extended to 15 September, while the call for Written Submission will be closed by 10 October.

As of 31 July, LivCom has received registrations from 172 applicants across 39 countries, covering the Whole City Award, the Environmentally Sustainable Project Award, and the Technology and Solution Award. These applicants should submit their Written Submissions by 31 August for an interim review by the International Panel of Judges.

Following the adjustment of demographic categories for the Whole City Award, LivCom has received an increased number of registrations this year falling within Category D (population range of 400,001–1,000,000) and Category E (population over 1,000,000); meanwhile, the number of registrations from Category A to Category C has also been relatively evenly distributed. The first batch of applicant cities are from more than 30 countries, including Portugal, Italy, Poland, France, Greece, Turkey, the United States, Brazil, the UAE, China, South Korea, Malaysia, Egypt, South Africa, and Australia, etc, covering major intercontinental regions. Cities from Iceland and Colombia, etc. have also made their debut to register in the Awards. Those that Written Submissions have passed the international review will subsequently be invited to participate in the LivCom Finals as well as multiple exchange activities held during the Finals.

This year's Awards is themed by ‘Sustainable Humanities and Future Cities’. Applicants are encouraged by the Judges to incorporate the theme in the written materials, particularly for the Technology and Solutions Award. During the Finals, in addition to the Finals presentations, the LivCom Committee will organize a four-day series of events all centered around this theme—including forum, multiple technical conference sessions, United Nations training programme and excursion tour, in collaboration with numerous UN agencies and partners.
