The 24th LivCom Awards opened for registration to worldwide cities and projects in March 2026. After joint discussion by the LivCom Committee and partners, it has been confirmed that this year's LivCom Finals & Forum will be organized during 12-15 December, lasting for four days, with the venue to be announced soon. The deadlines for registration and written submission are respetively July 31st and August 31st.
As the phase for 2030 Sustainable Development Goals draw near and the Compact of Future accelerates the advancement, building more inclusive, smart and liveable cities and ensuring that science, technology and innovation contribute to the human rights and greater development benefits for all have become new challenges for local authorities. The theme of this year's LivCom Awards & Forum is set as "Sustainable Humanities and Future Cities", aiming to comprehensively explore how to integrate humanities development and technological changes into urban planning, and look to the relationship between future urban technological innovation and humanities development.
LivCom 2026 will be co-organized by the LivCom Committee, the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP), the International Institute on Ageing/INIA (United Nations- Malta), the United Nations Center for Regional Development (UNCRD), the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS), the Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region & Europe (CEDARE), etc.The UNESCO Most Bridges Coalition has also become an important partner of LivCom 2026. Similar to previous sessions, it is expected that LivCom will continue to receive applications of hundreds of cities and projects from over 50 countries this year.
